Glasgow Shipyards : Printed Collection

These are prints from my honours year Printed Textiles Collection. This collection was based on my home town of Glasgow and it's amazing industrial heritage. The shipyards in GLasgow frame the cities iconic skyline and have made Glasgow the city it is today! My main inspiration came from the powerful geometrical structures which include the large Finneston Crane and other shipyard machinery that still remains today. 

 

Geometrical pattern and 3D elements were a key aspect to my project and were a continuing theme through each of my sketchbooks, contect and final prints and fabric lengths.
